100 Acre Wood Mural

So, this was the first mural I did for my kids bedroom 13 years  ago.
I started it when I was about 30 weeks along with twins so even reaching the wall
was difficult!

Rather than making the ground/horizon at the bottom of the wall, I did about waist high so the twins,
as they got older, could see it better from standing in their cribs!

I used multiple techniques to create the grass & rolling hills, including dry brushing,
sponges,  and a stippling brush.

Of course the room looked like this once they were in 'big kid' beds.
And yes, there is a toddler sized bed under all the mess :-)
My son's side of the room.

My daughters side of the room!

Dragon Mural - Day 4

Day four on the mural was spent on texture, and adding the rocks & boulders in.

Sorry about the flash, glaring off the wall!!  It is washing out the color in the images.

Once I finish the boulders, textures and rocks, I'll be adding a lava river between the 2 large dragons then onto the dragons themselves!

Custom Dragon Mural - Day Three

This is the mapped out drawing done to a 1 x 1 grid

Working on blocking in large areas of  background color before details are added.

My helper for the day, my son.  Did a great job!!
